Frequently asked questions

Short, honest answers about how CityBridge works.

Can I create an account?

Yes. Sign up with an email address and password or with Google, then complete your profile. CityBridge is early, so expect the product to keep changing.

Who can use CityBridge?

People aged 16 and older. Sign-up asks for a date of birth and blocks anyone under 16. Your birthday and exact age are never shown to other members.

What is the 16-17 tier?

Members aged 16–17 form a separate pool: adults and 16–17 members cannot discover, view, connect with, message or invite one another. Accounts aged 16–17 keep exact city and distance hidden by default, and their events use the Ages 16–17 audience.

What can I do today?

Browse and filter Discover, send connection requests with a personal note, find and host events with search, filters, details and calendar export, chat, receive notifications, and report or block anyone who makes you uncomfortable.

Still on the way: self-service data export, richer verification, and communities.

Why will I not be able to change my date of birth?

Because the age rule depends on it. A mistyped date needs a correction request handled by the team rather than a self-service edit.

How is the match percentage calculated?

From shared interests, overlapping connection goals, shared languages, and proximity or time-zone closeness. Every card can show a “Why this match?” breakdown listing the exact reasons behind its number.

What does Verified mean?

That the CityBridge team manually confirmed that member's identity or affiliation. It is never automatic and never implies someone is safe to meet.

How do I delete my data?

Settings has both options: deactivate your account to hide it, or delete it permanently to remove your profile, messages, RSVPs and uploaded photos. Self-service export is not built yet — email us and we will put a copy together.
